Working out

My brother Edwin has just finished his exams as a chiropractor and has come home with great advice on getting back in shape. It’s all about maintaining a pattern that you can physically and psychologically adhere to. I started it yesterday and will keep it going for as long as I can! My work out schedule/plan is flexible enough so that it can fit around my work hours and also allows room for improvement. It sounds easy and I was planning on setting up a workout plan for myself. However I never got around to thinking about it. Thanks to my brother’s return I should be seeing improvements in body shape and stamina within a month!

My plan includes aerobic runs once or twice a week and “strength” sessions twice a week. Sounds boring but the variety of exercises that I am working with keeps it bearable and actually quite interesting. I’ll be back to report my success.

It’s really motivating when you are told/shown what is good for you by someone who you really believe knows what they are talking about. I guess that is why doctors are paid so much!

Thanks Ed!

Life slaps hard!

Much has happened since I left my teaching position in Japan and returned to the UK to find employment. I often find myself wishing I had spent my time more efficiently in the past. After enough wallowing in self-pity I then realise that I may not have been able to reach the position I am in today with all the good things around me. However, although reminiscing over the past may allow me to learn from mistakes it doesn’t help me progress!

I think I am a bit late in realising this but as always, it is better late than never. Did you know that the average person spends more time planning their holidays than they do deciding their choice of employment? Quite an odd fact when you come to think of it. I need to research and communicate to plan my path ahead and then I need the discipline to walk that path. It’s scary when all you have is a dream and a half full head of know-how to achieve it.

Scary. But exciting!

많이 바빠! 아? Fireworks! 예이!

Oof! I feel busy again!
I keep packing things into boxes and sending them home, but when I look around my room, it seems like nothing has changed! I really have to start chucking EVERYTHING away!

Anyway, despite me being “busy”, I still set aside some time to go watch the fireworks that took place just a few hundred meters from my front door!

This fireworks display was truly awesome. I watched the same display three years in a row and must admit that this year was the best out of the three! I believe that Karatsu, *the location* may have again hosted the largest firework function in the whole of Kyushu, Japan!

However, I now wish I kept my mouth closed during the recording! I am sorry, but you will hear me shouting “waaaaa!” every two seconds!
